I’m back after Turkey Genocide Day, err, I meant Thanksgiving Day. Did a bit of shopping for Black Friday and now I’m just dead tired. So don’t expect fireworks from me for a few days.

Thanksgiving is upon us again and this year, I’m advocating for everyone to try something a little more adventurous than the traditional oven-roasted turkey. Introducing the latest in culinary creativity – the Turducken. A chicken stuffed in a duck stuffed in a turkey. It’s pure genius, it’s pure wholesome poultry goodness.

This endeavor takes a fair while, so I’m just taking this opportunity to make this “daily tidbit” count for a couple days while I go visit some of my buddies down in SoCal. Unfortunately, I’m not making any Turducken for them.

Play magazine recently released their annual Girls of Gaming issue (except that it’s not really just girls in games, many are anime girls, but you get the idea – fantasy-driven depictions of females in all their curvaceous glory).

…I have to add that though there are great wars going on now, and there was a great depression (early signs of an economic comeback now, but who knows?), the last couple sentences still ring true. We’re raised to have such unachievable aspirations that we’ve come to believe that anything less than super-stardom devalues our lives. Is it really a wonder that medication for depression is on the rise? Of course, over-prescription is a factor, but we can’t rule out the possibility that the rampant disillusionment of whole populations is a sign of our times.

Also, if Chuck Palahniuk wrote Fight Club later (say, 2000′s) it would probably have been, “We’ve all been raised on television to believe that one day we’d all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars, and housewives with silicone in Armani dresses, but we won’t.”
